From decades homework is an inseparable part of a student’s life. The thought of not doing it can seem hard to believe, dreamlike or even impossible. However, if you stop thinking about it, the fact is that homework is not necessary.

Today life is so hectic not only for adults even for children. Children have to spend at least seven to eight hours in school. They get the school at around seven or eight in the morning and left school around three in the afternoon. That is counted as the full day. Even after school they have many things to do like –
- Attending their extracurricular activities
- Attending supplementary classes
- Attending tutorial classes
This is their schedule for almost every day. Most adults have to spend similar time at work, and they get exhausted. At the same time, children have such a busy schedule. This is also very stressful, and homework doubles it.
Adults always comment that they are exhausted from work, or they had a very busy day at work and didn’t want to do anything after getting back home. Even then they can’t understand why their kids are having the problem in concentrating at the end of the day.
This is the end of their childhood. They don’t have enough time to relax. It is essential that people should understand that children need sufficient time to relax and being a child. If things didn’t change, there would be a time when they start hating studies as well as going to school in general.
- They are still growing
It is not right to make children spend so much time in studying. It an adult can complain about attention problem due to excess work then their problem is nothing in compared to children. Children are in the process of growing; their brain is not completely developed yet. It is essential that they have a lot of free time and get some exercise.
They need to do something that they can do in around thirty minutes. If they are fully energized and rested, it will help them in keeping up for at least four to five hours. If they are not fully energized or restless, then it will be hard for them to focus as there is still much time left for school that they have to cover.
- Health is more important
One of the most important reasons why students shouldn’t have homework is health. If they have to spend all their day in school and then they have to finish their homework after they get back to home, there are high possibilities for getting poor health. Getting exercise and sun are crucial for their health.
The best solution would be to do all your learning in a place and a short period. After you finish your school, then it’s time for them to go outside, get exercise and to play. This will not only improve their health but also help them in focusing on their studies.
- Family needs more time together
These days, mostly both the parents have to work, and they get a very little time to spend together with their family. If children are packed with homework and assignments, they will be able to see their parents only at dinner. This may be considered as the major issue contributing to the failing of family bonds.
If children get free time in the evening, they will be able to spend some more quality time with their parents. In fact, it will provide them with an opportunity to learn many important things that are not taught in any school or classes.
- Every child has different attitude
Another crucial reason why students shouldn’t have homework is that every child is different. Some kids can complete their homework without any trouble. On the other hand, some children suffer the whole day and yet unable to finish their homework. This difference reduces the efficiency of homework as an effective educational tool.
People get frustrated when they don’t get free time. They don’t get time for pursuing their hobbies and social activities. Just like you children also need some time for themselves. You should also respect their requirements.
Let them have some time after school so they can enjoy doing things they love and spending time with their family and friends. This is why students shouldn’t have homework.
